Half Dome Sleeping Pad

Half Dome Sleeping Pad

It's been a while!

Today's review is of this awesome Half Dome inflatable sleeping pad.  Thus far, I am pretty happy with it, however I have not had the chance to test it on a camp out yet.

So far, I can say the following:
It is very comfortable, it has a hand / foot pump for inflation, it is very easy to deflate, it seems very puncture resistant, it comes with patches to repair any punctures and it seems to hold air well.  The water resistant bag that it comes with is nice, and it does seem fairly small and light weight, which is great for backpacking. However, it is not particularly easy to inflate.  Inflation is relatively slow, and relatively time consuming.

Thus far, my only complaint is the inflation issue - but even with the issue, it is a good sleeping pad!

Take a look at this video and see what you think for yourself:

HSI Gliding Ceramic Flat Iron

Hi all!  I recently was given the opportunity to receive a gliding ceramic flat iron from HSI Professional for my wife.

She is a big fan of this flat iron.  It works well, heats quickly and evenly, has a nice little carrying case, and as an added bonus, the edges are beveled and rounded off so that it doesn't leave lines in your hair if you use the iron to curl it.  That's a big bonus, because it means that this flat iron works as both a straightener and a curler if you want it to.

The temperature dial works great and the iron is easy to understand when it is to temperature or not.  My wife also especially likes that the power switch and the temperature dial are on the inside, so she can't accidentally adjust the head or flip it off while she's using it.

Additionally, it came with a nice little bottle of thermal spray, which my wife has been experimenting with a little bit.  It also came with argan leave-in oil treatment and a glove to use to help her avoid burning her hand.

So far, my wife has not found any negatives with this flat iron.

So far, my wife is happy with this straightener and will continue to use it for the time being.

SWIFTSPIN Fidget Spinner

SWIFTSPIN Fidget Spinner

Hi all!  It's been a long time since I have poster a review on this blog!  Thanks for tuning into this review!  I had the opportunity to receive and review a brand new SWIFTSPIN Fidget Spinner.

I have really enjoyed this spinner.  It may look just like the cheap spinners you can pick up  in the checkout line at a grocery store, but it is anything but.  The molding of the frame is very nice and clean and looks great and the center bearing is of very high quality.  It is made of high strength steel, which is designed to spin faster and longer than traditional hybrid ceramic bearings.  In a spin test, it lasts around 3.5 minutes!  I have another fidget spinner that has a little bit more sturdy frame that, at best, lasts for 1.5 minutes!  Not enough can be said about the bearing quality, and the effect on the spinning ability of this spinner.

Additionally, the case that it comes in is very nice and comfortable to carry in your pocket, and is a great way to protect it.

All that being said, I ended up getting a couple of these, and there are a few cons.  The first is that the frame is not the most durable I have seen.  The first one I received was damaged in shipping and had three large cracks in it.  SWIFTSPIN was great to work with on getting a new one, but still a con.  Another con, and this is only the case on one of them, is that the covers over the center bearing are a little unbalanced.  After popping off the top part, I noted that the edge was shaved down a little bit on once side, which caused the unbalance.  It could easily be remedied, but it is a downside.

All in all, I still really like this spinner and would recommend it, for the bearing quality alone.

Silicone Egg Poachers

Silicone Egg Poachers

Hi all!  I know it's been a while, but I recently had the opportunity to review these silicone egg poachers.

These are great! They are very easy to use.  They are also easy to clean and prevent me from losing any egg or from making mistakes by just putting them in a boiling pot. It's a four pack, so you can still poach four eggs at a time. They are really nice and I'm a big fan.  No complaints.

If you're interested, you can check these out at this link.

Until later, take care!

Whiskey Rox Black Whiskey Stones

Whiskey Rox Black Whiskey Stones

Hi all!  It's been a while!  Thanks for tuning into this review!  I had the opportunity to receive and review a set of "Whiskey Rox" Whiskey Stones.

Let me preface by saying that I do not drink, so for me, these have become soda stones.  That being said, keep in mind that since these are meant to put in a single of whiskey, 3 stones are not sufficient for a glass of soda.  If you use enough stones, they will do a great job of cooling any drink.

In addition to cooling a drink without watering it down, these stones look really nice and are very smooth and high quality.  They come with a nice bag to place them in while they're in the freezer.

IceCubby - Large Ice Storage and Ice Holder - Holds and Stores 2.5 Inch Ice Spheres or 2.25 Inch Ice Cubes

IceCubby Ice Storage

I recently reviewed a large ice cube tray from Practico Kitchen.  This ice holder, also from Practico, is designed to be able to fit those large ice cubes.  It can also fit standard ice cubes.  It is easy to use and looks great. It is very easy to wash since it is a soft rubbery silicone. This is great to move ice cubes to and to cover them so that they do not get the scent/flavor of anything strange in the freezer. The seal between the case and lid works great!
